Travelling with the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00120

I took the Panerai Luminor Marina PAM00120 on my highly sought-after holiday break and here’s my final thoughts.

Rather early start of my day – arrived at the Heathrow Airport.

This particular model is quite interesting one, because of few things. The first one is dial – blue dial, which changes its hue, depending on angle – truly ‘instagrammable’ piece.

Stainless-steel bracelet makes this watch stand out, it is a bit more flashy than your normal Panerai watch on a leather or rubber strap.

It looks quite massive, though the 40mm case provides a good balance between how it sits on a wrist and how heavy it is. I do like its polished bezel, crown-guard and parts of the links, they work really well together with brushed surfaces of the watch.

Am I doing it wrong?

One huge downside of the stainless-steel bracelet is its comfort in wearing this watch. After a while your wrist starts feeling tired and hurt a bit, due to links being ended too sharp on the edges and being way too bulky. If that happens, you know it’s time to change for a NATO, leather or rubber strap. The good thing with Panerai watches is endless possibility of customisation. I went for a very casual and sporty option – blue NATO strap with two white subtle stripes. It feels both light and comfortable on wrist and that’s how you should feel on your holiday!

Panerai Luminor PAM00120 clearly stands out from the Panerai range. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, nevertheless I stupidly like this combination of the blue dial, iconic luminescent hour markers, polished & brushed surfaces and its stainless-steel bracelet.
