Alpina is honored to announce its new partnership with the French Ski Federation (FFS). Alpina will be a partner and “Official Watch” of the French Ski Federation for an initial period of two seasons, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 with an option for more seasons.
The French Ski Federation’s main mission is to promote and develop ski and snowboard activities in France. The French Ski Federation manages on its national territory both Olympic disciplines: Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding and non-Olympic disciplines: speed skiing, grass skiing and telemark.
The French Ski Federation numbers about 130’000 members (80’000 leisure members and 50’000 competitors/management members) divided into 1’000 ski clubs depending on 17 regional committees.
The French Ski Federation ‘clubs are user-friendly places which should enable each member to find the best conditions to practice its favorite discipline or to discover new activities.
Through this new partnership Alpina pursues and extends its commitment to the skiing and Alpine sports universes, which today consists of partnerships with Aurélien Ducroz, Sondre Turvoli Fossili, Melissa Arnot, Borge Ousland, the Polish Alpine Club and, a soon to be announced, French World Cup skier. A brand born in the Swiss Alps, Alpina shares the values of the Skiing sport in which technical skills, precision, perseverance and respect for the mountain are key. At the same time Alpina is also proud to support the younger skiing generations, who practice their alpine activities with diligence and passion, communicating positive values to the youth.
Guido Benedini, CEO of Alpina Watches says: “We are proud to become a partner of a major alpine sports Federation at international level like the French Ski Federation. With this partnership we want to give our contribution in communicating this fantastic and genuine sport alongside the FFS. Being an Alpine brand, we consider it our duty and responsibility to promote the values of alpine sports and the respect for the mountain environment“
Michel Vion, President of the French Ski Federation and former World Ski Champion in 1982, is also an important member of the International Ski Federation Council. He is delighted about the new collaboration between the FFS and Alpina Watches: “Alpina Watches is symbolic of precision and excellence. The French Ski Teams have a lot in common with this brand born in the Swiss Alps and mountain is their mutual environment.”
