Bremont – Jaguar MKI and MKII

Bremont and Jaguar have announced two watches collaborations. These watches are made as a tribute to the iconic E-type of Jaguar.

MKI watch is the more accessible version of the well-known “lightweight” limited edition watch, with a slight difference in a material used for the case, in this model the white gold and aluminium has been substituted for a stainless steel to be more accessible. A dial’s design is pretty similar to the “lightweight” watch.

This dial is a faithful reproduction of the vintage Jaguar speedometer. Even hour, minute and second hands are inspired by these indicating a speed in the vintage Jaguar car.

A beautiful round-shaped polished stainless steel case with a diameter of 43 mm houses a new self-winding BWC/01-10 precisely finished movement. A black metal dial presents a sub-dial in which are small seconds indicated. An eye-catching thing is a distinctive “red-line” quadrant stretching from three to four o’clock. There is a date window in the aperture and an iconic Jaguar logo as well at 6o’clock. The mentioned earlier movement features the power reserve of a minimum 50 hours when fully wound. It works at 28,800 vib/h. At the case back there is a really interesting thing. Through the sapphire crystal we can see the whole movement in full installment. An automatic winding weight is created in form of the little three-spoke E-type steering wheel with the Jaguar head on its centre as the iconic sign.

Meanwhile, the MKII is an incarnation of the sports car motoring spirit. A black dial with a heritage Jaguar logo right above the 6 o’clock and two chronograph sub-dials. Everything is designed in this watch with a view of the E-type’s dashboard. It is both aesthetically and technically great. From a design aspect we get the best miniaturized Jaguar spirit that we will be able to enjoy everyday. By a technical aspect we have here a sophisticated BE-50AE automatic movement as a proof of the watchmaking craftsmanship. It brings to life and empowers all the sophisticated functions just like the E-type’s engine does. At the case back we can also find the miniaturized three-spoke E-type’s steering wheel as a winding weight.

The 43mm stainless steel case goes with a double-domed crystal. It uses a special Bremont’s technology, which provides an incredible hardness, even seven times greater than a common steel watch. A chronograph sub-dials are situated at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock. We have a 60-second indicator (9 o’clock) and 30-minute counter (3 o’clock). An addition and a little tribute is the subtle “red line” visible at 60-second counter. Everything is complemented by a stylish winding crown with an interesting “tyre tread” pattern. In result, we get a classic, sports chronograph watch, which is well balanced in every possible aspect. We can see many characteristic signs, which tell us that this is the Jaguar inspired watch.

These two watches from Jaguar collection are just beautiful. By looking at them, we can notice this spirit of the iconic Jaguar E-type car.
