Today I’m showing you a Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon Skeleton watch, which will be officially presented during the SIHH 2015.

My first impressions about the Rotonde de Cartier 9461 MC are that it’s the horological masterpiece and the way the dial has been skeletonized to the maximum is just epic. This latest Cartier’s work of art is a treat for an eye and the wonderful achievement. Cartier takes the watchmaking very seriously. Fine watchmaking collection is the Cartier’s combination of the sophisticated complications with a magnificent, classy designs of the watches. Rotonde de Cartier 9461 MC is one of the watches from this collection. Every single watch is a masterpiece, showing the different story. It’s like admiring works of art in a gallery. Cartier offers the most spectacular and recognizable designs at the moment.

At the glance we can see that everything in this watch has been pared back to expose the tourbillon cage spinning around the dial. The whole manual-winding 9461 MC movement is attached by Cartier’s iconic XII and VI numerals, holding this movement securely. The significant difference between the tourbillon and the astrotourbillon is that tourbillon spins around the own axis, where the astrotourbillon spins around the whole movement. The case with 47mm of diameter is made of beautifully polished 18K white gold. At the front and the caseback we can find a sapphire glass. The water resistance in this watch is 30 meters.
