Longines – Conquest Classic Moon Phase

Longines - Conquest Classic Moonphase 18K rose gold

Conquest classic is one of the most renowned collections of the Longines. It combines things that are very important for a brand : elegance of the equastrian sports and the heritage of the fine watchmaking.

New model has been launched by Longines. It will enrich a range of the Conquest Classic chrongraphs. It is now equipped with the moon-phase display, which is a popular function in the watchmaking these days. New Conquest Classic Moonphase is subtle and elegant with a dose of the sophistication of the chronograph complications and a moon-phase. It represents all crucial values of the fine watchmaking tradition.

Longines - Conquest Classic Moonphase two-tone

“The “Conquest” brand was patented through the WIPO on 25 May 1954. Since then this name has been used for many successful models produced by Longines across the years. The Conquest Classic collection has joined the brand’s other collections of classical beauty that have helped to make Longines’ reputation and success throughout the world. This line is dedicated to equestrian sports enthusiasts who are not willing to compromise on elegance.”

A perfect diameter of 42mm circular case, makes this watch ideal, not too big, but also not too small. New Conquest watch houses the L678 self-winding mechanical chronograph movement. When we are taking about the movement features, I will mention that the power reserve is about 48 hours when fully wound. The chronograph movement works at the frequency of 28,800 vib/h.

Longines - Conquest Classic Moonphase stainless steel

New watch from Conquest collection will be available in 3 versions that differs in terms of colour. First model (L2.798.8.72.3) goes with the black alligator leather strap, silvered dial and its case is made of beautifully polished 18K rose gold. The second one (L2.798.5.72.7) is a watch with a two-tone bracelet and case in respectively stainless steel, 18K rose gold and with silvered dial. This model is actually my favourite coloristic version, it looks really astonishing with a polished 18K rose gold and a brushed/polished stainless steel. Third and the last version of the Conquest Classic Moonphase is (L2.798.4.52.6) entirely made of stainless steel but with a black dial.

Let’s move on to the sophisticated complications of the new Conquest Classic Moonphase watch. At 6 o’clock there is a dial with a 12-hour counter and moonphase that we can see the current lunar cycle. A date is indicated by a crescent central hand. At 12 o’clock we can find a 30-minute counter, month and a date of the week. In turn, at 9 o’clock there are : hours, minutes and 24-hour indicator. Central seconds are sweeping around a dial.
