Quick Look at the Rolex Submariner 116613LB and 16613

Can Rolex Submariner Date 116613LB or 16613 be ideal watches for one-piece collection ?

Imagine being asked a following question : If you were to choose only one watch for your lifetime collection, what would you choose? When I first asked myself this question I was unable to come up with the right watch that would cater all my needs. My watch collecting approach is to have different watches, ticking different boxes of ‘usefulness’. For example, Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso ticks all boxes of the ultimate dress watch. By contrast, Rolex Submariner 16610 ticks all boxes of the ultimate sports watch.

The idea of choosing a watch for one-piece collection is to merge all, well-selected attributes and receive versatile combination. That’s why I came up with Rolex Submariner Date 116613LB and 16613 ‘Serti dial’, depending on dial preference.

Rolex Submariner 116613LB

In my opinion this watch ticks all those boxes, who are vital for a watch in one-piece collection. It is a sports Rolex with more elegant and prestigious presence created by a two-tone bracelet and solid gold bezel with ceramic insert. Blue version is in my opinion way far more interesting than black one – ref.116613LN.

Doesn’t matter if it is a suit or tracksuit, Rolex Submariner Date 116618LB looks great regardless of the outfit you may wear it with. It can easily withstand a heavy usage as a daily ‘beater’ and its water resistance of 300 meters allows you not to worry about water getting inside your watch, while swimming or playing at a beach. Versatility is written all over this watch.

Both watches house a 40mm case, but it is worth mentioning that the newer version – 116613LB has more massive case than the older 16613, hence it looks more chunky and bulky on a wrist.
