A new Vacheron Constantin timepiece that will enrich the Historiques collection. It is a little back to the roots bringing the classic chronograph and interpreting it in the modern and more bold way.

The name of this watch, namely “Cornes de vache” means “Horns of the cow” and refers to the characteristic ‘cow-horn’ lugs, which look very stunning. Historiques collection brings back to life Vacheron Constantin’s classics, on which the Manufacture built its whole legacy of the excellent watchmaking. This watch is a nice piece for the vintage watch collectors and also the real connoiseurs. The example for this work of art was the historical model – the first water-resistant and anti-magnetic chronograph introduced 60 years ago.

New Historiques watch shows the relative simplicity of the classic design with twin ‘mushroom’ shaped pushpieces. The reinterpreted legend features the 38,5mm case made of the precious 950 platinum with polished bezel and ‘cow-horn’ lugs. As the original one, Historiques Cornes de vache is water resistant to 30 meters.

A dial is finished with the classic silvered opaline (center) and the sun-brushed external area. The thing I really like about the vintage chronographs is a dial with its incredible harmony and delicate hands, hour markers, subdials and generally everything presented on dial.

 

 

The movement fitted in 38,5 mm case is the in-house Calibre 1142, mechanical with the manual-winding. It is both technically and aesthetically beautiful. Just look at these meticulously hand finished parts.

In technical aspects, this movement features round 48 hours of power reserve, when fully wound. The mechanism operates at 21,600 vph (3 Hz).

This watch is equipped with the central seconds, hours and minutes. Besides these functions, the chronograph shows its complications in two subdials at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. At 9 o’clock we can find small seconds, 30-minute counter is situated at 3 o’clock.

The watch goes with the stylish dark blue alligator leather strap. The front and the case back are covered with the sapphire crystal.
