Getting high in Amsterdam with a Rolex Submariner ‘Hulk’

Well, the title speaks pretty much for itself.

As, I’m currently staying at home, because of a minor cold, I decided to tell you about my weekend in Amsterdam – a beautiful city with a lot to offer (wink). Taking the Hulk (Rolex Submariner 116610LV) was the best choice I could potentially make, as I had to match the colour scheme.

It’s not just that, this reference belongs to one of my favourite Rolex watches of all sports models. Also, I made a review on my Youtube channel very recently, starring this watch (click here). In the past, I was so crazy about the model, I wrote a tribute article on it (click here). So yes, it is not the first time I was wearing a Hulk.

Let’s go back to the trip! So the very first stage was, of course, my beloved Heathrow Airport. The flight turned out to be one of the most pleasant ones, as it’s only 45 minutes from London! So, by the time you eat your complimentary meal, it’s time to land.

The weather in Amsterdam wasn’t enjoyable at all! I was greeted by violent winds and rain.

The great thing about Amsterdam is that it doesn’t require too much of a journey. The train from the airport takes literally around 10 minutes to get to the city centre – Amsterdam central – very convenient.

As soon as I arrived to the hotel, I had to take a wrist shot and see what’s around.

The thing I hated about Amsterdam, the moment, I was walking from the station were bicycles, cars and basically the way the traffic was organised.

Once, I was settled in the hotel, left the bags and relaxed for a bit it was time to go out and explore. The ultimate goal for this trip was to simply unwind and slow down.

I’m not going to show you any photos from the coffee shops, red lights district or feature marihuana, as my friends and family told me, it’s better not to promote it on social media or anywhere! It’s gonna be a family friendly post.

Over the course of 2 days spent in Amsterdam, I’m pretty sure I walked around the whole city centre probably 50 times, it is impossible to get anywhere using google maps, you just need to walk straight ahead and pray to get to the place you wanted.

What I love about this place is that after your smoking session in one of the coffee shops, you can always grab a quick bite to eat, whatever might be your craving – pancakes, donuts, ice cream, pizza, burgers, fries – anything you desire!

Green light to go! Snacks!

However, if you fancy some sightseeing there are plenty museums like the very pointless Museum of Sex.

The very best food spot turned out to be the hotel restaurant, simple, straight to the point menu.

Amsterdam looks brilliant by night with nicely illuminated buildings. Everyone seemed to be chilled in that city. I think for many people, Amsterdam has been a well-established city for an ultimate weekend trip.

I think for me, the city is a bit too relaxed in terms of lifestyle and acceptable norms of what people perceive to be normal.

Nevertheless, there is something remarkable about Amsterdam, something that you just feel, the minute you walk around the city centre. Add on top the fact that everyone speak English, wherever you go – shops, restaurants, pubs.

I enjoyed the weekend, however as soon as the calendar was indicating Sunday, I knew it’s time to pack the bags, check out from the lovely hotel and head to the airport. Ironically, that majority of flights were either delayed or cancelled, due to very strong winds. The flight to London was delayed by nearly 4 hours. Thanks god it only takes 45 minutes to get from Amsterdam to London… And that was it, my weekend getaway in Amsterdam. Rolex Submariner Date 116610LV ‘Hulk’ was there with me. What a stunning watch!
